The greatest lessons aren’t memorized, they are experienced. At Haka Game Park, we redefine educational tours in Zimbabwe by transforming the standard field trip into a dynamic field discovery. Here, the rustle of leaves and the sight of grazing wildlife turn abstract textbook concepts into tangible, thrilling truths for students of all ages.
Our philosophy is built on a proven principle, that engagement drives lasting understanding. For primary schoolers, learning becomes an interactive game through carefully designed scavenger hunts and storytelling trails that animate lessons on animal habitats and food webs. For high school students, our Ramsar wetland and woodlands become a living laboratory for authentic science where testing water quality, tracking biodiversity, and analyzing ecosystem services are part of the day’s adventure. For university scholars and tertiary groups, the park offers a rich, accessible site for serious fieldwork and research in conservation, ecology, and sustainable tourism.
As a leading provider of educational tours in Zimbabwe, we are more than a destination; we are an active partner in experiential education. Nestled uniquely within Harare, we provide a safe, stunning, and logistically simple environment where curiosity is rewarded. We collaborate closely with educators to craft journeys that align with curricular goals from the Zimbabwean syllabus to international benchmarks, while fundamentally prioritizing wonder, teamwork, and hands-on problem-solving.
Choosing Haka for your educational tour in Zimbabwe means investing in an experience where students don’t just learn about the environment—they connect with it, building a lifelong foundation of respect and stewardship for our natural heritage.
Planning a school trip involves many details. Below, we’ve answered the most common questions about our educational tours to help you prepare for a seamless and impactful learning adventure at Haka Game Park.
Our programs are specifically tailored for all educational levels. We design age-appropriate activities ranging from interactive sensory games and simple nature trails for primary schools, to data collection and ecosystem analysis for high schools, and advanced research modules for university and college students.
Our tours are developed in consultation with educators to directly support key learning objectives in the national curriculum for Geography, Biology, and Environmental Science. We focus on practical demonstrations of topics like ecosystems, water cycles, biodiversity, and conservation, providing the fieldwork component that reinforces classroom theory.
A standard educational tour is a half-day (3-4 hour) programme, which includes a guided thematic activity, time for exploration, and a debriefing session. We also offer flexible full-day packages that can include multiple activities, a designated picnic lunch, and more in-depth workshops.
Students should come prepared for an outdoor field study: closed shoes (no sandals), a hat, sunscreen, a refillable water bottle, a notebook and pen, and their curiosity! We recommend school-branded attire for easy identification.
